Our Story

Kobo Brand began at a kitchen table covered in vinyl scraps, half-weeded decals, and a laptop running Cricut Design Space well past midnight. Our founder was a small-shop maker selling personalized tumblers and tees at weekend markets, and the most frustrating part of the work was never the crafting — it was the files. Cut files that came with missing layers. PNGs that pixelated the moment they hit a mug press. Bundles that looked great in the preview and fell apart on the cutting mat. We knew there had to be a better way to source designs that simply worked.

So in 2021 we started drawing our own. Every design was built on a real cutting machine and pressed onto a real blank before it was ever offered for sale. If a file did not weed cleanly, we redrew it. If a PNG was not crisp at full size, we rebuilt it at 300 DPI with a genuine transparent background. What started as a personal library of dependable files quickly turned into something other makers wanted too — and Kobo Brand was born.

Today, Kobo Brand is an independent digital design studio operated by KIKISTEES.COM, LLC and based in Miami, Florida. We create original SVG, DXF, EPS and PNG design files for makers, crafters, and print-on-demand sellers around the country. Every product in our shop is delivered instantly, includes a small-business commercial license, and is tested across the tools our customers actually use: Cricut, Silhouette, Glowforge, sublimation printers, and print-on-demand platforms.

How We Make Our Files

Every Kobo Brand design starts as an original concept — hand-lettered, hand-drawn, or built from scratch in vector software. We never trace or repackage someone else's artwork. Once the artwork is finalized, we convert it into a true layered SVG so each color separates cleanly for multi-layer projects, export a DXF optimized with the kerf and path order that laser cutters expect, save a fully editable EPS for Illustrator and CorelDRAW users, and render a high-resolution 300 DPI PNG on a transparent background for sublimation and print-on-demand. Before any design is published, we run it through a real test: cutting it on a Cricut or Silhouette, engraving a sample on the laser, or pressing it onto a blank. Only files that pass that test make it into the shop.
